21st Century Skills

At Euro School, we believe that true learning extends beyond academic disciplines. We strive to equip our students with valuable life skills that go beyond the classroom. As an IB Candidate school*, we implement the Approaches to Learning (ATL) which encompass a wide range of abilities which are not subject-specific but rather transferable across all areas of life. We believe that by cultivating a strong foundation in ATL skills, we empower our students to become confident and successful learners who are well-prepared for the challenges of the 21st century. The key ATL Skills that we emphasize and assess are:

  • Communication: Effective oral and written communication, active listening, and presentation skills.
  • Thinking: Critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and information literacy.
  • Social: Collaboration, teamwork, respect, and intercultural understanding.
  • Self-Management: Organization, time management, goal setting, and self-regulation.
  • Research: Information seeking, evaluation, and responsible use of information.

ATL skills are embedded into our curriculum across all subjects, connecting them to real-world contexts. By fostering a collaborative environment among teachers, encouraging student reflection, and utilizing diverse assessment strategies, we ensure that our students develop the essential skills they need to become independent, lifelong learners.
